Bishop’s Waltham Chamber of Trade & Commerce


Park Bishop’s Waltham has in excess of 190 businesses in and around the town centre.
The Chamber of Trade and Commerce represents the interests of these businesses in matter relating to the town and the neighbouring area.

On behalf of the businesses the Chamber of Trade and Commerce coordinates and raises funds for the Christmas lights, organises the Christmas Fayre and late night shopping, arranges a programme of visiting markets, promotes Bishop’s Waltham as an attractive place to visit, provides a voice for the business community and assists local charities.

The Chamber also has a representative on the Parish Council’s Tourism, Community and Environment Committee. The Council actively supports the work of the Chamber and is committed to working with the local businesses to increase the foot fall in Bishop’s Waltham.

Christmas
The Chamber of Trade and Commerce annually organises and funds the Christmas Lights, Christmas Fayre and late night shopping evening (the first Thursday in December) plus the Christmas Shopping Sundays (traditionally the two Sundays before Christmas) when all the shops are open.

The purpose of these events is to give the shops a ‘kick start’ to the Christmas trading period, attract new and existing customers to Bishop’s Waltham for their Christmas shopping and to provide some Christmas fun for the local community.
